About Michelle.

Hi, I’m Michelle McCarty. I’m a registered psychotherapist (qualifying) and clinical counsellor with a master’s degree in counselling psychology from Yorkville University. More importantly, I’m someone who genuinely cares about helping people navigate life’s challenges with warmth, empathy, and a personalized approach.

My passion for this work was sparked through my journey of raising my children and caring for others in my community. As a parent of neurodiverse young adults, I understand firsthand the unique challenges, isolation, and complexities that can arise. I’ve also navigated my own experiences with trauma, loss, infertility, and adoption - each chapter shaping my resilience and deepening my capacity for empathy.

These personal experiences allow me to bring genuine understanding and support to my clients as they face life’s difficulties. Along the way, I also faced my own experience with anxiety, which gave me a personal understanding of how overwhelming and isolating it can feel. These moments opened my heart to the profound impact of support, encouragement, and understanding.

Now, I specialize in working with individuals facing anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism, OCD, and grief. I believe that healing begins with feeling truly seen and heard. My goal is to help you uncover the roots of your struggles, embrace your strengths, and create a life that feels more meaningful and fulfilling. You don’t have to go through this alone—I’m here to support you every step of the way.

A walk through
the ferns.

Ferns are found on every continent, a testament to their adaptability and resilience. These qualities—adaptability and resilience—are also deeply valued in human life. The fern’s ability to thrive in diverse environments mirrors the journey of personal growth, reminding us that we too can flourish even in challenging or unfamiliar conditions.

In many cultures, ferns symbolize healing, hope for the future, and new beginnings. Just as the fern regenerates and thrives in places where other plants may struggle, we are reminded that growth often emerges from adversity. This enduring symbolism encourages us to embrace change, persevere, and find strength in life’s transitions.

Take a metaphorical walk among the ferns and explore emotions and intuition while developing a profound connection to yourself. I will walk alongside you as you embark on this journey, guiding you toward deeper self-awareness and renewal.

“Michelle creates a warm welcoming atmosphere that allows clients to feel comfortable and at ease. She is collaborative, supportive and empowering in her approach. She uses a variety of techniques to work with her clients to achieve their goals.“
